FORT LAUDERDALE – The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's teams will be hosting Florida Southern in their final home meet on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the NSU Aquatics Complex. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but the Sharks will also begin senior day recognition at 1:30 p.m.
 
On the women's team, four seniors will be honored in their last collegiate season with the Sharks. Those to be recognized are 
Georgina Allin, 
Kelsey Muma, 
Brooke Munion and 
Emma Wahlstrom. On the men's side, six will be honored including 
Marco Aldabe, 
Javier Caballero, 
Andrew Pittman, 
Cheyenne Rodriguez, Thiago Sicker and 
Victor Tarin. Senior day festivities will actually begin with a bar-b-cue out in front of the complex starting at 1 p.m. headed up by the Student Athletic Advisory Committee.
 
As for the meet, the Sharks will be facing a tough Florida Southern program. The Mocs' men's program is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest CSCAA top 25 national poll and they will be facing the No. 2 NSU men's program. Florida Southern's women come in ranked No. 22 and facing a tough NSU women's team that's is ranked No. 3.
 
The last time out for NSU, the Sharks hosted a tri-meet at the NSU Aquatic Complex on Jan. 4 that included both the University of Indianapolis and Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins. Both NSU teams came away with victories over both UIndy and the Tars. The Sharks men remained undefeated against single opposition at 5-0, while the Sharks women improved to 6-1.
 
Both Florida Southern teams will come into Saturday's meet after suffering losses against Emory on Jan. 7. Their women's team fell by a final tally of 173-86, while the men's team were also outscored 135-127.
 
FSC and NSU were originally scheduled to meet up earlier in the season for a dual meet, but was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew back in October. However, the two opponents have already had an opportunity to compete against each other at the 2016 Spartan Invitational in December.
