FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Taking a break from conference competition, the Nova Southeastern swim teams traveled to Indian River State College to compete against the River on both sides, while the women's team also raced against FIU. The women topped host IRSC but fell to FIU, while the men came up short against the River.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The women's and the men's side of the 200 medley relay both finished in second place, as the women clocked in at 1:47.62 and the men in 1:34.01.
- In the final relay of the day, the women's 200 freestyle relay also took second with their time of 1:37.38
- Overall, the Sharks posted five individual first-place finishes, three from the men's side and two from the women's.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- For the fourth consecutive meet, Emma Sundstedt picked up the win in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:17.10. She also finished on top in the 500 freestyle in 5:01.86.
- On the men's side, Bernardo Abascal also earned the win in the 1,000 free as he recorded a time of 9:43.74.
- In the men's 200 butterfly, Allesandro Xella topped the competition in 1:54.86.
- Vincent Lijoi grabbed the last win for the Sharks of the day in the 500 freestyle, as he posted a time of 4:44.15.
UP NEXT
The Sharks will take about almost a month long break from competition and will resume at the Spartan Invitational hosted by the University of Tampa on Dec. 15-18.
