HOW IT HAPPENED:

BOTTOM 2ND: The Saints were the first to reach the board, taking a 1-0 lead on a Shark error.

TOP 3RD: An inning later, the Sharks scored all three of their runs, starting with an RBI-double by Kailynn Blackwood to score Keeley Mayers, who drew a one-out walk. A dropped fly ball by FC's right fielder allows Sydney Lageyre to score and put the lead on NSU's side before an RBI-single by Lexie Storrer represented the Sharks' final tally of the game.

BOTTOM 7TH: Flagler cut the deficit to one run, 3-2, with a sacrifice fly by Hayley Kirinsky, and threatened to walk off with the win with two runners on base but a line out by Garland Evans ended the game with NSU on top.

INSIDE THE STATS:
  • The Sharks were limited to four hits in the first game, as Storrer accounted for two of them, going 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI.
  • Blackwood and Lageyre tallied the other two hits, both scoring once.
  • Storrer improved to 9-12 on the season, pitching the full 7.0 innings and allowing two runs on just three hits with two strikeouts.

BOTTOM 1ST: Similar to the first game, it was Flagler who struck first, taking a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Natalie Murphy.

BOTTOM 2ND: The Saints quickly got the advantage back on their side, 4-3, taking advantage of an Evans two-RBI double and an error committed by the Sharks.
