FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After delaying game one due to Friday night's inclement weather, the Nova Southeastern softball team fell twice at the hands of the visiting Moccasins from Florida Southern on Saturday afternoon at the AD Griffin Sports Complex. Desite jumping ahead, 3-0, early on in the first game, the Mocs rallied back to steal game one, 5-3, before taking the nightcap, 4-1.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP (GAME ONE, 9 INN.):

HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOTTOM 2ND: Leading the inning off with a double to left center was
Alex Suzuki, who was advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by
Daniela Bautista. A sacrifice fly by
Keeley Mayers brought Suzuki home, and the Sharks took a 1-0 lead.
BOTTOM 4TH: With two outs and runners on second and third,
Kayla Kight sent a two-RBI single to right field to give NSU a 3-0 advantage.
TOP 5TH: With the bases loaded, Shannon Bell singled to left center, scoring two, before a groundout by Jessica Trana pushed another across to knot the game, 3-3, eventually forcing extra innings.
TOP 9TH: RBI-singles by Bell and Zierra Flodman were enough to steal the win from the Sharks, tallying the final two runs of the game for a 5-3 Mocs win.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- The Sharks tallied six hits during game one, with not one Shark recording multiple.
- Kight finished 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Mayers was 1-for-1 with one RBI and run scored, drawing a walk.
- Lexie Storrer took the loss, tossing the distance and allowing five runs on 10 hits.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The three different pitchers used by the Mocs were the most the Sharks have seen in a single game this season.

FINAL: Florida Southern Moccasins 4 (W: K. Beacham, 9-4), Nova Southeastern Sharks 1 (L: L. Storrer, 13-23)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOTTOM 4TH:
Dana Edmundson led off the inning with a single through the left side before stealing second. A fly out by Suzuki pushed her to third before a ground out by Bautista brought her home for a 1-0 Sharks lead.
TOP 6TH: With runners at the corners, Bell singled up the middle to score the tying run before the Mocs exploded for three more runs to take a 4-1 lead and eventual winning score.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- NSU was held to just one hit for the entire game, tallied by Edmundson in the fourth.
- Storrer took the loss once more, allowing four runs (2 ER) on seven hits in her 7.0 innings pitched.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Edmundson's hit represented her 199th of her career.
- With the doubleheader sweep, FSC claims the series.

The Sharks will close out the 2018 season with a single game against the Mocs tomorrow with first pitch slated for 11:00 a.m. Prior to the game, the Nova Southeastern softball team will honor its two seniors,
