HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first goal of the match was an absolute dandy, coming off a right-footed strike from outside the box by Darwin Lom in the 25th minute. The shot curled into the top right corner for his fifth goal of the season.
- Just five minutes later, in the 30th minute, a corner kick form Jan Luca Ahillen was headed by Lom and kicked home by Loibl for his sixth of the year
- A key save from point blank in the mouth of the goal during the 59th minute from Titouan Le Roux kept the momentum in the Sharks' favor
- Loibl was not done yet, either, as a shot from Lucas Dessoliers in the 61st minute sent a rebound off the goalkeeper right to Loibl, who finished the play with his second score of the game.
- A mere 30 seconds after the Sharks increased their lead to 3-0, an excellent through ball from Aleks Berg found a streaking Loibl, who made quick work of the defender and completed the hat trick.
- In the 82nd minute, Curtis Thorn netted his first goal as a Shark, corralling the ball with his stomach and all in one motion flicking it to the top right corner to give the Sharks the 5-0 lead and ultimately the final goal of the match
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Sharks have rattled off six straight wins and now are just one win away from tying the 2007 team, which began the season with seven wins in a row.
- Dating back to the end of last season, the Sharks have emerged victorious against 10 of their last 11 opponents.
- The first hat trick of the year for the Sharks came to fruition, as the three goals from Loibl now puts him tied for the category lead in the Sunshine State Conference.
- Nova Southeastern has complied back-to-back shutouts, and now has three overall in its first seven matches this season.
- The five-goal output from the Sharks matches their season high (5-1 win over Delta State on Sept.1).
- With two more assists tonight, Berg increased his team-high total to six already this season. The team leader in 2017 recorded just five throughout the entire year.
- In the last three games, the Sharks have outscored their opponents 10-1.
- The Sharks now improve to 18-8-1 over Flagler all-time.
