HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • In the seventh minute, Jemma House recovered a rebound in front of the net and put the Sharks on the board first.
  • The Wildcats tied the match less than ten minutes later with the first of two goals by Savannah Jackson.
  • Anetra Byfield gave the Sharks the lead for good with less than ten minutes left in the first half, deflecting a corner kick from Kirsten Russel into the back of the net. Olivia Graham, making the first appearance of her collegiate career, solidified the lead as time expired on the half when she stole a goal kick and sent it back from just outside the box.
  • The second half featured more of the same, starting with House's second goal of the match about six minutes in after a perfect pass from Dejah Holman gave her the right angle for a shot into the left corner of the net.
  • Morgan Masters netted the team's fifth goal in the 62nd minute, and although Jackson got the Wildcats one back on a penalty kick in the 70th, Jessica Bonenclark brought the game home with just 32 seconds remaining on the clock.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • House's second multi-goal effort of the season gives her the team lead in goals (4) and points (9). Her first was on September 1 in the 5-0 victory over King in Bristol, Tenn.
  • The Sharks set a new record for goals scored during the four-year tenure of head coach John Constable. Their last six-goal match was on October 30, a 6-1 victory over Johnson & Wales to conclude the 2014 season. Constable was named head coach the following January.
  • After battling injuries to begin the season, Gabriela Alfaro, an experienced leader of the defense, appeared for the first time this season to begin the second half.
  • The Sharks improve to 6-0 all-time against Johnson & Wales, with a win in each of the last five seasons. They have outscored the Wildcats 30-4 overall and 15-3 under Constable.
 STATS OF THE NIGHT:
  • Sarah Aikens improved to 2-0 on the year, notching three saves and one goal allowed in 62 minutes of game play. Anna Keffer made her season debut with the final 28 minutes of action.
  • Twelve different Sharks logged shots in the match, led by Bonenclark's four. Bonenclark, with her last-minute goal and an assist, was one of eight players to earn a point.
