FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – After battling inclement weather, the Nova Southeastern Sharks had a solid performance on day one of the 2019 Shark Invitational. After nine events, the Sharks currently sit in first place on both sides over fellow competitors Florida Tech, Florida Southern, Keiser, Lynn and Savannah College of Art and Design.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Wright picked up an individual win in the 200 backstroke, posting a time of 2:03.47. Alessandro Xella made it a Sharks sweep in the event after claiming first place in 1:53.47.
- Also picking up individual victories were Johns in the 50 freestyle in 24.23 and Maslova in the 200 butterfly, winning with a time of 2:04.19.
UP NEXT
The Shark Invitational will conclude on Saturday with the first event starting at 9:00 a.m.
