HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Following a combined one-under par effort, Barry jumped out to a two-shot edge over both Columbus State and Lincoln Memorial. West Florida currently sits in fourth at two-over par, while Georgia Southwestern and Lynn each hold a share of fifth at nine-over par.
- Freshman Mike Hay posted the lone round under par on the day for the Sharks. Yet, he was unable to keep up the pace following an opening-round (-2) 69, and dipped into a tie for 25th after carding a (+5) 76 in round two.
- A solid first 36 holes in which he racked up a total of 30 pars landed Victor Jimenez in a tie for 30th at four-over par.
- Rounds of (+4) 75 and (+6) 77 placed freshman Jamie Markwick tied for 65th through two rounds. One shot behind Markwick stands Benjamin Hjort, followed by Jonny Cachon, who ended day one tied for 73rd overall.
