FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern men's and women's swim teams hosted the Tampa Spartans in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon. The women topped Tampa 152-110, while the men came up just short to the Spartans, 142.5-119.5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Emma Sundstedt earned the individual win for the Sharks in the 1000 freestyle, posting a time of 10:28.22. Vincent Lijoi earned the win for the men's side, recording a time of 9:41.18. The two also went on to win the 500 freestyle in 5:08.89 and 4:42.27, respectively.
- In the men's 200 freestyle, Alec Dawson won in 1:41.94.
- Both the women's and men's teams won the 100 backstroke as Wright grabbed an NCAA B-cut time of 56.39 and Averchenko emerged victorious in 50.72
- Another NCAA B-cut time came in the women's 200 butterfly, as Maslova won with her time of 2:03.32. Poulsen also won the event for the men in 1:53.52. The pair also won the 100 fly, with times of 56.80 and 48.85, respectively.
- Jenna Johns earned the win in the 50 freestyle in 24.10, just .07 away from a B-cut time.
- Wright grabbed an individual win in the 200 backstroke, registering a time of 2:03.60.
UP NEXT
The Sharks will take a break from Sunshine State Conference action next weekend as they travel to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the Fall Frenzy hosted by Queens.
