VALDOSTA, Ga. – The No. 8 Nova Southeastern women's tennis team (2-0) finished strong in its first road contest beyond the borders of the Sunshine State this season, delivering the sweep to weekend host Valdosta State on Saturday at the VSU Tennis Courts with a 7-0 record.
Doubles
- Junior Sarah Wardenburg and freshman Natalie Espinal recorded the first win of the day in No. 2 doubles, topping VSU's Daniella Barta and Hera Brynjarsdottir, 6-3.
- Junior Isabella Lowrey and sophomore Chantal Nosievici registered the second win in No. 3 doubles, pushing past Birte Langestein and Amelia Cornwall, 6-1.
- Rounding out the doubles in the No. 1 slot, the No. 12 ITA pair of senior Ana Navas and junior Daniela Obando defeated Estee Widdershoven and Eva Rivoal, 7-6, overcoming a 5-5 tie before claiming the tiebreaker.
Singles
- Wardenburg also produced the first singles win in the No. 4 position, putting away Brynjarsdottir, 6-3, 6-0.
- Earning her first official individual win with the Sharks, Nosievici earned the 6-2, 6-0 win over Cornwall in No. 6 singles.
- Next to claim victory, at No. 9 ITA and first flight singles Navas topped Widdershoven. 6-3, 6-0.
- Freshman Diane Follin-Arbelet got in the winning mode at No. 5 singles, defeating Rivoal, 6-2, 6-4.
- At No. 13 ITA and second flight singles, Espinal fought off a challenging bid from Barta, triumphing in a second set tiebreak to win, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5).
- At No. 3 singles, Obando closed the door on the sweep after splitting sets and coming out in extras with a 6-1, 3-6, 10-5 victory over Langestein.

- "It's always good to get a Region win on the road," Neagle said. "We play a tough Georgia College team tomorrow who beat Valdosta State by the same 7-0 score last week."
