DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Three more school records for the Nova Southeastern track and field teams came at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic at the ERAU Track Complex this weekend, as the Sharks finished third in both the men's and women's standings.
FIELD EVENTS
- Senior Maddy Kenyon made a strong jump in her first heptathlon of the season, winning the event and registering a school record with 4,957 points, topping her own record mark by 701 points. For her efforts, Kenyon also registered a provisional qualification for the NCAA Championships, earning six personal bests and winning four events.
- For the third meet in a row, freshman Timothy Young produced a long jump school record, reaching 7.07m (23-2.50) to finish second.
- Senior Christopher Horn added 207 points to his school record in his first decathlon in two years after an injury redshirt year las season. Horn added several personal bests and was just two meters shy of the javelin school record at 51.10m. Horn finished second overall in the event.
RUNNING EVENTS
- Senior Eric Moate finished second in the 200m with an NCAA provisional time of 21.23.
- Freshman Michael Parry knocked six seconds off his best 1,500m to run a 3:55.45 and finish second.
- Junior Ian Nieves went third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.76.
- Freshman Daniel Duffy finished fourth in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 56.42.
RELAY EVENTS
- The men's 4x100m relay of Nieves, Young, Zaheem Anderson and Moate finished second with a combined time of 41.60.
