HOW IT HAPPENED:

BOTTOM 1ST | The Sharks wasted no time taking the lead, tallying four runs in the first inning. With Mya Maddox at third and Sam Sisco at second, a fielder's choice on Tia Williams' ground ball allowed Maddox to score. After a stolen base by Williams, a single to left center by Alex Suzuki gave enough time for both baserunners to score, making it 3-0 in favor of the Sharks. The final run of the inning came from the next batter, Juliana Speranza, as she singled down the right field line to bring home Suzuki for a 4-0 NSU lead.

BOTTOM 2ND | With two outs on the board and runners at second and third, a Sam Sisco ground out was just enough for Sydney Lageyre to score from third, who singled through the left side two batters prior.

BOTTOM 4TH | Leading the inning off with a single to second base, Maddox stole second and was pushed to third on a Williams single before Suzuki brought her home on an RBI-single up the middle, giving NSU a 6-0 advantage.

TOP 6TH | Kutztown tallied their first run of the game in the sixth to make it 6-1 as a sacrifice fly by Amber Brugger brought home Alyssa Donato from second.

BOTTOM 6TH | After a triple to left by Williams, Suzuki doubled to left center to bring her home and push NSU's lead to 7-1. The next batter, Speranza single to left to put the Sharks in scoring position before a fielder's choice by Ryleigh Langwell scored Suzuki to tally NSU's final run of the game and make it 8-1.

TOP 7TH | The Golden Bears attempted to make a comeback in the seventh, scoring two off a solo homer by Katelyn Ostaszewski and an RBI-single by Jenna Lipowski, but it wasn't enough as the Sharks were able to close out the inning and end up on top, 8-3.
