Offenses Dominate as Sharks Secure Draw on Senior Night

Matty Cornish scores in 90th minute of 4-4 final against Saint Leo

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In a wild match that saw both teams lead, five goals scored in a span of 14:28, and a red card that forced Nova Southeastern to play a man down for the final 58:22, Matty Cornish found the back of the net in the 90th minute to help the Sharks earn a 4-4 draw against Saint Leo on Senior Night.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • NSU celebrated its eight graduating seniors – Cornish, Odei Arrieta, Bryan Bakboord, Henrik Berg, Milos Christoforou, Alberto Ciroi, Brian Lopez and Tino Miguez - prior to Saturday's match.
  • The Sharks' four goals equaled a season high previously set on Sept. 10 in a 4-0 win over Florida Memorial.
  • Cornish has now scored in four consecutive games.
  • NSU currently sits tied for fourth with Rollins in the SSC standings. The top six teams will qualify for the SSC Tournament, held from Nov. 8-14.
STATS OF THE NIGHT:
  • Four different players recorded each of the Sharks' four goals, with Miguez (27'), Nick Brisevac (44') and Manu Schwarz (45') joining Cornish (90') in the box score.
  • NSU held an 18-14 edge in shots, as well as a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
