#17 NSU Comes back to Beat Lynn in Five-Sets

#17 Sharks Stay Perfect At Home

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The 17th ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team defended home court and defeated Sunshine State Conference foe Lynn in five-sets on Tuesday evening from the Rick Case Arena. The win improved the Sharks to 10-0 on their home court this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED  

  • NSU opened the match on a 7-0 rally to take an 11-4 lead. 
  • Elizabeth Price recorded three kills during the run, and Brittany Landrum capped the rally with her first kill of the match. 
  • Marianna Fiocco tallied back-to-back kills to extend the Sharks advantage to 16-12. 
  • McKenna Tucek added a kill of her own to give NSU a 21-15 lead. 
  • Alex Psoma closed the first set with the final two kills as NSU won the first set, 25-19. 
  • Amanda Hall gave Nova Southeastern an 11-9 lead midway through the second set. 
  • Lynn responded with four consecutive points, taking a 13-11 advantage over NSU. 
  • The Sharks rallied from a 15-12 deficit with a 5-0 run to take a 17-5 lead over the Knights. 
  • During the run, Psoma added two kills, and Preslee Brooksbank recorded a service ace. 
  • Hall and Price added back-to-back points for the Sharks to give NSU a 23-21 advantage. 
  • Lynn closed the second set with 6-of-8 points, tying the set 27-25. 
  • Following scoring the first point of the third set, NSU was unable to take the lead for the remainder of the set, dropping it 25-22. 
  • Two consecutive errors by the Knights allowed NSU to tie the fourth set, 6-6. 
  • Back-to-back kills from Landrum gave Nova Southeastern an 18-15 lead over Lynn.  
  • Hall sealed the fourth set victory with a kill, as NSU forced a fifth set, by claiming the fourth set 25-19. 
  • The Sharks were able to take an 8-4 lead early in the fifth set.  
  • An error from Lynn started a 5-0 run for NSU, which was capped off by Psoma kill as the Sharks took a 14-7 advantage. 
  • Nova Southeastern clinched the match victory with a 15-10 win in the fifth set of the Sunshine State Conference match.
