BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following an unprecedented year - to say the least, the 2021 swimming season came to a close on Saturday, as the Nova Southeastern women's and men's teams earned respective eighth and 14
th-place finishes at the NCAA DII Swimming & Diving Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
INSIDE THE MEET:
WOMEN'S TOTAL SCORES: Nova Southeastern Sharks (8th Place – 188 Points)

FINALS RESULTS:
- In her return visit to the finals following her bronze medal on Friday, Cassandra Wright collected seventh this time around, recording a time of 1:59.49 in the women's 200 backstroke.
- Savanna Best garnered her second Top-10 finish in as many nights, reeling in an eighth-place finish in the women's 200 breaststroke on Saturday after posting a time of 2:16.54.
- Closing out a very strong meet for the women overall, the women's 400 freestyle relay (Wright, Solana Capalbo, Sasha Maslova and Allison Kopas) placed ninth in the event with a time of 3:26.91.
- Meanwhile, the men's 400 free relay (Alec Dawson, Steven Aimable, Samuel Brettmann and Jarryd Baxter) posted a time of 2:59.00 to place 11th.
CONSOLATION FINALS RESULTS:
- A time of 2:00.43 in the men's 200 breast B-Final landed Olle Williamsson in sixth for the event, and 14th overall.
PRELIMINARY RESULTS:
- A trio of Sharks each missed out by just one spot on earning a place in the evening's B-Finals.
- Dawson finished 17th in the men's 100 free preliminaries with a time of 44.17.
- Capalbo found herself in a similar position after posting a time of 2:01.61 in the women's 200 back.
- On the men's side, Baxter garnered 17th as well in the men's 200 back, touching in at 1:47.03 – a new NSU, personal best.
- Also competing in the men's 100 free, Aimable clocked in with a personal-best time of 44.92.
- Kopas swam the women's 200 back in a time of 2:03.21.
