BOCA RATON, Fla. - Nova Southeastern Volleyball continued its dominant run to begin the 2021 season, earning the seventh straight sweep, in a three-set victory over Lynn on Tuesday evening. The Sharks have won 22 consecutive sets dating back to the season-opening match against Pittsburg State on Sept. 3, and 14 straight matches going back to 2019.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Madison Cook opened the match with back-to-back service aces to quickly give NSU a 2-0 lead over Lynn.
- Nova Southeastern opened a 7-2 advantage over the Fighting Knights, following a Marianna Fiocco ace, to force an LU timeout.
- A 3-0 run by the Sharks, which featured kills from Alex Psoma and Elizabeth Price, gave NSU a 15-4 lead in the opening set.
- Fiocco added a kill later in the set as NSU doubled up Lynn 22-11.
- Brittany Landrum sealed the first set victory with a kill, as NSU took set one 25-13.
- The second-set began as a back-and-forth affair before Jovana Bulatovic gave the Sharks the lead for good with a kill.
- The Sharks recorded four consecutive points, three off LU errors, to take a 13-8 lead.
- NSU led 20-12 following a kill from Julia Bernardes.
- Nova Southeastern took a 2-0 lead in the match by taking the second-set 25-20.
- The Sharks trailed 2-4 in the early stages of the third-set before a Price kill, followed by three LU errors, gave NSU a 6-4 advantage.
- NSU and LU sat even at 11-11 when Price took over the set, scoring three straight points as Nova Southeastern took a 14-11 lead.
- Lynn responded with 6-of-7 points, taking a late 15-17 lead over the Sharks.
- Trailing 17-21 in the third-set, the Sharks rallied for 8-of-9 points to complete the sweep over the reigning champions.
- Kills by Psoma and Price sealed the victory for the Sharks.
