Sharks Strike Early and Often to Beat Eagles

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. – After a goal from Juanchi Nunez in the first minute of the match, the Sharks never looked back. Nova Southeastern would continue to have an offensive night putting up a total of five goals. The Nova Southeastern Sharks take down the Embry-Riddle Eagles 5-1 in tonight's SSC showdown.

HOW IT HAPPENED

· In the first minute of the match, Alberto Rentero was able to find Juanchi Nunez, who fired one into the back of the net, giving the Sharks the very early 1-0 lead.

· In the 26th minute, both Milos Christoforou and Nick Brisevac fired shots on goal, but were swiped away by the Eagles' goalkeeper.

· In the 27th minute, the Eagles were able to sneak one by Eduardo D'Avino to tie the match at 1-1.

· The Sharks responded in the 37th minute, after Christoforou was able to get one into the back of the net, making it 2-1 Sharks. Christoforou was assisted by Santiago Marengo.

· Seconds later, in the 38th minute, Nick Brisevac joined the fun by also firing one into the back of the Eagles' goal, making it 3-1 Sharks. Brisevac was assisted by Christian Gorski.

· In the final moments of the first half, Michael Lawrence was able to sneak one past the Eagles' goalkeeper, making it 4-1 Sharks at the break. Lawrence was assisted by Gorski.

· Throughout the early part of the second half, Theo Oherwall, Michael Lawrence, Christian Gorski, and Manuel Cukaj all fired shots on goal, but were knocked away.

· In the 66th minute, Santiago Marengo was able to sneak one into goal, extending the Sharks lead to 5-1.

· The Sharks' defense was lockdown the rest of the way through to give the Sharks the big victory.

STATS OF THE MATCH

· Nova Southeastern outshot Embry-Riddle 23-7, including outshooting them 12-6 on shot-on-goal attempts.

· Ten different Sharks attempted a shot-on-goal.

· Santiago Marengo's goal was his first in his NSU career.
