WINTER PARK, FLA. – After a free kick goal from Nick Brisevac late in the first half, Eduardo D'Avino and the Sharks' defense were an iron wall the rest of the way. The Nova Southeastern Sharks take down the Rollins Tars to advance to the SSC Tournament semifinals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

· The Sharks' offense made their presence felt early with Nick Brisevac, Michael Lawrence, and Tommy Maguire all firing shots-on-goal, but were all swiped away by the Tars' goalkeeper.

· In the 40th minute, Eduardo D'Avino came up big stopping two of the Tars' shots, keeping the game tied at zero.

· In the 43rd minute, the Sharks got on the board. After getting awarded a free kick, Nick Brisevac was able to fire one into the upper left corner of the net to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead just minutes before the break.

· Minutes into the second half, Michael Lawrence tried to extend the Sharks lead, but was denied by the Tars' goalkeeper.

· Defense was the story in the second half, not allowing the Tars to get a single shot-on-goal in the final 45 minutes.

· Eduardo D'Avino records his third shutout victory for the Sharks this season
