HOW IT HAPPENED

Daniel Rivero (2-0) got the start for the Sharks and set down the Golden Falcon hitters in order to start the ballgame, striking out two. Duncan Pastore and Adan Fernandez both worked walks, starting a two out rally in the bottom of the first inning. Pastore scored on a Gabriel Rivera RBI single, giving the Sharks a 1-0 lead.

After allowing a lead-off single to open the second inning, Rivero added his third strikeout and induced an inning-ending double play to preserve the Sharks lead. NSU got back on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Pastore and Fernandez brought in runs by walking with the bases loaded.

In the top of the fifth inning, Rivero worked out of a runners on second and third jam by recording his seventh and final strikeout to give the Sharks five shutout innings. Cooper Omans relieved Rivero in the top of the sixth inning.

NSU tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Pastore drove in Epstein with a deep sacrifice fly to center field. Adam Frank later scored on a Felician error. Carlos Rey entered in the top of the eighth for the Sharks, and quickly dispatched the Felician hitters, striking out the side. NSU added another run in the bottom of the eighth inning, before Michael Dillon sealed the win with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
