HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 3rd | Both starting pitchers were dealing early on, as the two teams mustered just two combined baserunners in the opening two frames. However, in the top of the third, the Sharks took advantage of a pair of ERAU fielding errors when Tia Williams dumped a two-out double into center field to hand NSU a 2-0 advantage.

BOT 4th | The Eagles would threaten for the first time in the ball game, putting two aboard with just one out. Hess would escape the jam, though, inducing a fly ball to left before tallying one of her six strikeouts in the effort.

BOT 6th | Hess worked around a lead-off single in the sixth, receiving some defensive help from rightfielder Ryleigh Langwell, who made an impressive diving grab to thwart any momentum for ERAU.

BOT 7th | After allowing two straight pinch-hit singles to open the inning, Hess battled back to retire the next two batters via foul out and strikeout. An infield error in the ensuing at-bat, though, would prolong the game before consecutive run-scoring singles handed ERAU the dramatic victory.

INSIDE THE STATS:
  • Langwell, Sydney Lageyre and Alexis Smith each registered a stolen base, running NSU's SSC-leading total to 32 this season.
  • The Sharks were limited to only two hits on Friday, one by Williams and the other off the bat of Allie Janowiak.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Three of NSU's five losses this season have come via walk-off.
