HOW IT HAPPENED:
- If only the Sharks could've done away with their opening-round struggles, they would've found themselves in contention for a Top-2 finish. Still, despite the 22-over par start, NSU responded with rounds of (+3) and (-6) to climb into fifth at 19-over for the tournament.
- Top-ranked Barry ran away with the tournament win, besting runner-up Eastern Florida State by 19 strokes with a final score of nine-under par. Keiser earned third place (+14), while South Carolina-Beaufort (+18) edged out the Sharks for fourth.
- Calles finished as one of just five players in red numbers, closing the week with his best finish in three starts this spring.
- A one-over par round on Tuesday moved Mike Hay into a tie for 14th on the final leaderboard. Hay finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of (+3) 219.
- NSU needed just a bit more consistency throughout its lineup this week, though. Daniel Celestino earned a share of 38th, while Josep Serra and Joseba Torres finished tied for 49th and tied for 62nd, respectively. Serra and Torres each posted their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting (-1) 71 and even-par 72.
- Competing as an individual, Jamie Markwick collected a tie for 42nd.
STATS OF THE DAY:
- The course played nearly 200 yards shorter on Tuesday, resulting in the lowest scoring average of the tournament (75.06).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD:
- Barry's Felipe Alvarez beat out teammate AJ Ewart on the first playoff hole to earn individual medalist honors. Both players finished at eight-under par overall.
