HOW IT HAPPENED:
TOP 1
st | Connor didn't face many jams on Thursday, but put herself in one right away in the top of the first after walking two of the first three batters she faced. A passed ball moved both runners into scoring position with two outs, yet the freshman was able to tally one of her four strikeouts to keep the Sailfish off the board.
BOT 4
th | The Sharks were limited to only one hit through the first three innings of action.
Sydney Lageyre would spark the offense, though, in the fourth with a lead-off single up the middle. After a
Ryleigh Langwell sacrifice bunt put Lageyre in scoring position, Williams handled the rest, dropping an RBI-triple down the right-field line to give NSU the 1-0 edge.
TOP 5
th | A key double-play on an attempted hit-and-run helped Connor work around three singles in the fifth.
TOP 7
th | Connor would allow the lead-off batter to reach in the seventh before inducing a pop-up in the infield, a flyout to center and a routine grounder to second to secure the shutout.
