FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Three straight dominant outings from NSU pitching, led to 21 consecutive shutout innings, in a Sunshine State Conference series sweep over Palm Beach Atlantic. Emily Hess and Katelyn Ellard followed Ashley Connor's lead, blanking the Sailfish in Friday's SSC doubleheader, as the Sharks won game two 2-0 and the series finale 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
BOTTOM 1ST | Alexis Smith led off the inning with a single and stole second base, putting a runner in scoring position for the Sharks. Smith showed off her wheels later in the inning, scoring on a ground out from Ryleigh Langwell, giving the Sharks an early 1-0 lead.
TOP 2ND | After allowing a single to start the second inning, Emily Hess shut down the Sailfish offense, retiring 11 consecutive batters.
BOTTOM 6TH | With two outs in the inning, Emerson Morris entered as a pinch hitter with runners on first and second. Morris singled through the right-side, driving in Janowiak and provided a valuable insurance run for the Sharks.
TOP 7TH | Hess finished the shutout for her 11th complete game of the season to earn her 11th win of the 2022 campaign.
GAME TWO
BOTTOM 1ST | NSU jumped on the scoreboard early once again, as Tia Williams drove in Sydney Lageyre with an RBI single to center field.
TOP 3RD | Ellard held the Sailfish out of the hit column until the third inning, as PBA recorded their first hit, but Ellard continued to shutdown the Palm Beach Atlantic offense, ending the threat with a lineout to third base.
BOTTOM 4TH | Maddie Fine led off the inning with a walk and moved into scoring position after a Swantic single. The Sharks scored a pair of runs, first off a Morris RBI ground out and the third run of the contest with an RBI single from Alexis Smith.
TOP 7TH | Ellard sealed the series shutout and sweep, as the Sharks blanked the Sailfish for the third consecutive game.
