LAKELAND, FLA – After being knotted 1-1 at the half, the Sharks offense was able to come alive in the second half. After goals from Luana Grabias and Chama Silva, Nova Southeastern was able to take down Florida Southern 3-1 in the Sharks' first SSC match of the 2022 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· The match started off on the wrong foot for the Sharks as the Moccasins were able to get one past Stefane Rosa, making it 1-0 in the 2nd minute.
· In the 18th minute, the Sharks were able to knot it up at 1. Thanks to an assist from Louise Matsgard, Annie Bjork was able to fire one into the back of the Moccasins' goal.
· The two defenses held steady, keeping it 1-1 for the remainder of the first half.
· The Sharks' offense came out of the break on fire, as Luana Grabias got one past the Moccasins' goalkeeper, making it 2-1 in the 49th minute. Grabias was assisted by Katharina Jullich.
· In the 71st minute, NSU was able to add to its lead, thanks to a goal from Chama Silva, making it 3-1 Sharks. Silva was assisted by Luana Grabias.
· In the final 10 minutes of the match, Stefane Rosa came up big, saving all three shots she faced.
STATS OF THE MATCH
· The Sharks outshot the Moccasins 16-12 in the match, including outshooting them 8-1 in the first half.
· Annie Bjork and Chama Silva each scored their first goal of the 2022 season.
· Five different Sharks were able to get a shot on goal.
