Sharks Sweep Eckerd in SSC Play

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks took care of business, taking down the (RV) Eckerd Tritons 3-0 on Friday night from Rick Case Arena (25-23, 25-22, 25-19).

HOW IT HAPPENED

· Out the gate in the first set, Jordan Chessar set the tone getting 3 kills in a row, giving the Sharks a 3-1 lead.

· After being down 12-11, the Sharks rallied. With kills from Kate Mihacevich, Elizabeth Price, and Taylor Stockman (2), they forced Eckerd to take a timeout after NSU took a 15-12 lead.

· Taylor Stockman and Jordan Chessar sealed up set one with a block to win 25-23.

· Eckerd adjusted and went point-for-point to open up set two against the Sharks.

· After a kill from Chessar and a block from Elizabeth Price and Brittany Landrum, the Sharks forced a Eckerd timeout and took a 18-16 lead.

· Eckerd rallied late scoring 3 consecutive points to bring them within 1 point of the Sharks.

· After a service error and a kill by Stockman, NSU took set two 25-22.

· After a kill from Mihacevich, a block by Stockman and Chessar, and an attack error by Eckerd, NSU took a commanding 10-5 lead in set three.

· After back-to-back kills from Stockman and Price, NSU went up 24-17.

· Price sealed the match victory with a kill, giving the Sharks a 25-19 set three win, and a 3-0 match victory.

The Sharks host Tampa in Sunshine State action on Saturday, September 17th, in the Rick Case Arena. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
