FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - After allowing a go-ahead goal in the beginning of the match, the Sharks overcame the Spartans and the elements, defeating Tampa 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday evening from the NSU Soccer Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Spartans began the game with a quick goal to take a 1-0 lead over the Sharks in the early minutes of the contest.

Inside the 20 minute mark, the SSC match-up was delayed due to weather for nearly an hour.

Following the break, Nova's defense stymied the Tampa offense and held the score at 1-0 as the clubs went into halftime.

Luana Grabias tied the match at 1-1 after breaking away down the left-side of the field and beating the Spartans keeper to net the equalizer.

In the 86th minute, Dani Correa put the game-winning goal past the Spartans keeper to give NSU a 2-1 lead late in the match.

Stefane Rosa turned away a last gasp effort by the Spartans, finishing off the Sharks fifth win of the season.
