BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Sharks raced at the Florida Atlantic Home Invitational on Friday against Sunshine State Conference opponents (Lynn, Palm Beach Atlantic and St. Thomas) and several Division I programs. Once again led by Kamila Soja, the Sharks had five top-20 finishers en route to a 2nd-place finish. On the Men's side, Adrien Zambaux and three top-30 finishers led NSU to a 4th-place finish on the day. In addition, NSU Cross Country finished ahead of NCAA Division I program, Florida Atlantic, on both the men's and women's side.
HOW IT HAPPENED: (Women's 5K)
· Soja finished 3rd with a time of 18:30.5, the fourth-fastest time in program history.
· Eden Toal joined Soja in the top-10, earning an 8th-place finish (18:45.0).
· Maya Espinosa (17th/19:21.4), Ally Jakubiak (18th/19.23:5) and Corinne Renshaw (19th/19:24.6) rounded out the top-20 finishers for the Sharks.
HOW IT HAPPENED: (Men's 7K)
· Zambaux (3rd/23:44.4) and Lucas Mardis (8th/24:23.9) finished inside the individual top-ten runners.
· Evan Crisp (34th/25:53.3) and Cote Strike (39th/26:21.3) finished the seven-kilometer race inside the top-40.
· Holden Decker, Allen Currie and Cody Brown also earned top-50 finishes.
