FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Softball team defeated West Liberty and Mars Hill in a doubleheader sweep on Saturday afternoon. The Sharks dominated in game one, Alyssa Drogemuller held West Liberty to one hit, en route to a 6-0 victory. In game two, the Sharks were led by 6 RBIs from Alexis Smith, propelling them to a 13-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOT 1st | Smith singled to center field to get it started for NSU, in the ensuing at-bat Smith successfully stole second base. Ryleigh Langwell then doubled, bringing in the first run of the game for NSU. After Tia Williams got on base, Elise Eason singled with a bunt and brought in Langwell, to give the Sharks an early 2-0 lead. A miscommunication by the Lions allowed Williams to score and add to the Shark run count. NSU wasn't done yet, a sacrifice fly by Madison Fine brought in the fourth run across home plate for Nova.
BOT 2nd | With two runners on base, Williams flied out to left field with 1 out in the inning, allowing Alexi Watkins to score.
BOT 6th | Aydan Milgrom made her first appearance of the season and contributed right away, batting in a run for NSU to give them a 6-0 lead.
TOP 7th | Drogemuller retired the side and sealed the game for NSU.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP (GAME TWO)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
BOT 2nd | Burke singled to left field, bringing home the first run of the game for the Sharks.
BOT 3rd | Alexis Smith tripled to start the inning for NSU. In the ensuing at-bat, Langwell doubled and brought home Smith to give the Sharks a two-run advantage. Williams was walked in the next at-bat, shortly after, both she and Langwell stole bases, advancing them to third and second respectively. After an error by the Lions catcher, Williams was able to score. The Sharks continued to get on base and were in a bases-loaded situation with Alexis Smith at bat. Smith then tripled and brought in three runs. Langwell followed suit and singled, bringing Smith across home plate and giving NSU a 10-0 lead.
BOT 4th | It was Déjà vu all over again for Smith. With the bases loaded, Smith tripled to left field and batted in three more runs for the Sharks, extending their lead to 13-0.
