TAMPA, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern Women's Basketball team lost its 5th game of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling at Tampa 53-80. The Sharks were led by 13 points from Madison Frederick, 10 points from Hailey Conley, 10 points from Kyarrah Grant and 9 points from Mackenzie Steele.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half – The Sharks got out to a 2-0 lead after a jumper from Madison Frederick. A free throw from A'lexus Bryant and a three-ball from Kyarrah Grant helped NSU earn a 6-4 lead with just over 7:30 remaining in the quarter. As Tampa went on a 10-4 run, a three-pointer from India Shepherd helped bring the momentum back to Nova Southeastern. Sarei McGill made a pair of free throws, then assisted Emma Krause on a three-pointer that tied the game 18-18. As the quarter ended, the Spartans went on a 17-4 run that put the Sharks into the second half down 22-35.
Second Half – Hailey Conley caught fire, opening the second half with back-to-back three-pointers that lowered NSU's deficit to 9 points. From that point, the Spartans went on a 14-0 run that was eventually ended by a second-chance layup from Krause. The Sharks scored just 8 points in the third quarter and would go into the fourth quarter trailing 30-55. NSU started the final quarter on a 16-6 run led by nine points from Frederick. Kyarrah Grant and Mackenzie Steele both contributed baskets throughout the fourth quarter, but the Sharks would fall 53-80 against the Spartans.
