Sharks Drop SSC Contest at Tampa

TAMPA, FLA. – Nova Southeastern Baseball opened its series against the Tampa Spartans on Friday evening. The Sharks were defeated 6-2 from UT Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Top of the First – After a double from Adam Frank, Duncan Pastore brought him home with an RBI single to give the Sharks an early 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the First – After a walk and double to start the inning, the Spartans were able to add two runs after an RBI single, giving the Spartans a 2-1 lead.

Bottom of the Third – The Spartans tacked on a run, increasing their lead to 3-1 over the Sharks.

Top of the Fourth – After loading the bases with three consecutive singles by Duncan Pastore, Daniel Irisarri, and Kristian Noriega, Adam Smith was able to get the Sharks back in the scoring column with a sacrifice fly to centerfield, allowing Pastore to come home. Sharks trail the Spartans 3-2.

Bottom of the Fourth – After a double to open the bottom half of the inning, the Spartans were able to bring in another run, increasing their lead to 4-2.

Bottom of the Sixth –Tampa added another two runs to their lead, making it 6-2 Spartans over the Sharks.

Top of the Ninth – Sharks battled till the end, but were unable to defeat the Spartans, dropping the contest 6-2.

Nova Southeastern continues its series with the Tampa Spartans on Saturday, March 25 with a doubleheader at the UT Baseball Field, with the games scheduled to start at 1pm and 5pm.
