BOCA RATON, Fla. – Nova Southeastern Baseball sealed the Sunshine State Conference series win over Lynn, as the Sharks defeated the Fighting Knights 11-6 on Saturday afternoon.
Stephen Schissler led the Sharks offense, going 3-4 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored, while
Cooper Omans earned the win on the mound, throwing six innings and allowing just one run.

Bottom of the First – Lynn opened the game by scoring the first run on an RBI single. Omans responded by recording three consecutive outs and ended the Fighting Knights rally.
Top of the Second –
Daniel Irisarri made an impact at the plate and on the bases, leading the inning off with a double to left field before stealing third base = his fifteenth of the season.
Kristian Noriega drove in Irisarri on an RBI groundout and then
Stephen Schissler hit his fifth home run to give NSU a 2-1 lead.
Top of the Fifth – The score remained 2-1 until Nova Southeastern rallied to score four runs in the frame, as the first five Shark hitters all reached base in the top of the fifth inning. Noriega led off by working a walk and moved to second following a base hit from Schissler.
Derek Bermudez drove both runners in with a two-run double and came into score on an RBI single from
Bryce Hazzard.
Adam Frank capped off the inning by driving in Hazzard on a sacrifice fly, putting the score at 6-1.
Bottom of the Sixth – Omans ended his day by working around back-to-back base hits, as the southpaw twirled his fifth quality start of the season.
Top of the Seventh – Frank led off the inning with a solo home run, his third of the year, pushing NSU's lead to 7-1. Later in the frame, Irisarri came into score on a bunt single from Schissler as the Sharks led 8-1.
Top of the Eighth – Pastore and Irisarri each recorded a run scoring hit, leading a three-run eighth inning for Nova Southeastern and put the score at 11-2.
Bottom of the Ninth – The Fighting Knights battled and scored four runs in the inning, but the Sharks were able to seal the series win with an 11-6 victory over Lynn.

NSU goes for the series sweep against Lynn on Sunday, April 23. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
