How it Happened
GAME ONE
Bottom of the First – The Eagles scored the first run of the contest, taking the lead on a sacrifice fly, in the opening frame.

Top of the Third – Duncan Pastore tied the game with an RBI double, driving in Ryan Cainzos, and put the score at 1-1. Daniel Irisarri followed Pastore's double with an RBI single, giving the Sharks their first lead of the game, 2-1.

Top of the Fourth – Stephen Schissler provided an offensive spark in the fourth inning for Nova Southeastern, leading off the frame with a double and stealing third base. Derek Bermudez brought in Schissler with an RBI groundout and extended NSU's advantage to 3-1.

Top of the Fifth – Adam Smith pushed the Sharks lead to 4-1 as he plated Pastore on an RBI single and chased the Eagles starting pitcher from the game. The pitching change didn't impact the Sharks, as Schissler drove in Kristian Noriega to put NSU ahead 5-1.

Top of the Seventh – Schissler continued his productive day by hitting a two-run home run, his third of the season, giving Nova Southeastern a 7-1 lead.

Top of the Eighth – Smith hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season and pushed the Sharks advantage to 9-1.

Bottom of the Eighth – Cooper Omans, the Sharks starting pitcher, worked deep into the contest for the second consecutive start and retired the last seven Eagles he faced before being relieved by Anthony Karoly. Embry-Riddle scored two runs of the reliever, cutting the NSU lead to 9-3.

Top of the Ninth – Derek Bermudez's first collegiate home run came in the inning, putting the Sharks ahead 10-3.

Bottom of the Ninth – Karoly recorded three strikeouts in the inning, sealing the 10-3 victory for NSU.

Shark Standouts
In his last two starts, Cooper Omans has registered 15.1 innings pitched, allowing just two runs, while walking three and striking out 10. During that stretch, Omans has a 1.17 ERA.

How it Happened
GAME TWO
Bottom of the Fourth – The finale of three-game Sunshine State Conference series began as a pitchers dual, with neither starting pitcher allowing a run through three innings. The Eagles got on the board first with a solo home run, taking a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the Fifth – Embry-Riddle added another run on an RBI double, putting the score at 2-0.

Top of the Ninth – Trailing 2-0 and needing a rally to earn the series win, the Sharks were down to their final three outs. Pastore led off the ninth with a double and NSU quickly had the tying run on base following an error to allow Irisarri to reach. Smith drove in Pastore with an RBI single, finally getting the Sharks on the scoreboard. Schissler tied the game with an RBI single, driving in Irisarri, and put the score at 2-2. Nova Southeastern continued to apply pressure, as Schissler stole second base – putting two runners in scoring position – before Hazzard drove in a pair of runs to give the Sharks a 4-2 lead in the final frame.

Bottom of the Ninth – Michael Dillon remained on the mound for NSU and after allowing a lead-off single, quickly eliminated the threat by inducing a double play. Dillon closed the door, sealing the series win for the Sharks, as NSU rallied to take the finale 4-2.

Shark Standouts
Frank Ellisalt tossed a quality start, striking out seven over six innings of work, while allowing just two runs.
Adam Frank, Duncan Pastore, and Daniel Irisarri all recorded extra base hits.
