#2 NSU Sweeps West Florida to Begin NCAA Tournament

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The second-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women's Tennis team began its NCAA postseason run with a dominant, 4-0 victory over seventh-seeded West Florida on Monday morning from the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills.

How it Happened

Doubles 

Natalie Espinal and Fatima Bizhukova started the match with a 6-3 victory over Verdu and Midori. 

Julie Razafindranaly and Karolina Snita sealed the doubles point for the Sharks, defeating Saguchi and Martinez 6-0.  

Singles 

Julie Razafindranaly continued her excellent performance on the day, earning a [6-1, 6-2] win over Saguchi in singles action.  

Natalie Espinal gave NSU a 3-0 lead in the match after defeating Verdu [6-3, 6-1] 

Diane Follin-Arbelet sealed the NCAA Tournament victory for the Sharks, beating Svatos [6-1, 6-2].

Head Coach Doug Neagle - "The ladies were ready for today. They have stepped up their intensity in practice and it showed. The South Region is so tough, and it's always nice to move on in this tournament." 

What's Next
No. 2 Nova Southeastern will take on Sunshine State Conference foe Saint Leo in the NCAA South Region II Final on Tuesday morning from the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills. First serve is set for 11 a.m.
