How it Happened

First Half – Rollins jumped out to an early 9-2 lead but a jumper by Scales stopped the Tars run. With 6:34 left, NSU would go on a 6-1 run to end the quarter, cutting their deficit to one. Three minutes into the second quarter, a three-pointer by Nicole Scales gave the Sharks their first lead of the game. A 10-2 Shark run capped off by a layup from Morgan Kane extended NSU's lead to 31-21 as they headed into halftime.

Second Half – Jess Moors and India Shepherd came out hot, scoring the Sharks next 10 points to kick off the second half. Rollins answered with a 5-0 run before Stupp scored four consecutive points to send NSU into the final frame with a 47-31 lead. Both teams picked up the intensity defensively in the fourth quarter but NSU would go on to secure the 56-40 victory over the Rollins Tars.

Coach's Corner

Head Coach LeAnn Freeland-Curry: We picked up a huge road win today against a very hot Rollins team who had won eight straight and were undefeated in the SSC. Our players locked in defensively and made it very difficult for them to score. Overall, it was one of the best defensive efforts in years. Our staff is very proud of how our team is coming together and working hard for each other.

What's Next

Nova Southeastern will stay on the road and head to Melbourne, FL on January 13th to take on Florida Tech in another SSC showdown. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
