Sharks Tie #18 Florida Tech in SSC Action

Melbourne, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team tied Florida Tech in a hard-fought defensive battle. A late goal by Tabea Schutt led the Sharks to a 1-1 draw in tonight's SSC matchup against the Panthers.

How it Happened

  • It was a battle in the first half with both teams not letting much happen offensively as the defenses were controlling the game led by Izzy Martinez

  • The closest the Sharks came to scoring was in the 20th minute with a shot by Maja Isaksson

  • Florida Tech took the lead in the 22nd minute as the Sharks began seizing the momentum. 

  • Maria Jansen had a close scoring chance that was denied in the 78th minute. 

  • Emilie Schroeder was keeping the sharks in the game with five key saves. 

  • As time was winding down, Tabea Schutt came up clutch for the Sharks in the 89th minute.

Coach Amy Vaughan - The girls played very well against a tough opponent in Tech, as a staff we are proud of their grit and determination. They stuck together and ground out a well fought point on the road. Go Sharks!
