LAKELAND, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team came up clutch in a defensive battle with Florida Southern .  A late goal from Alexa Bereczki led the Sharks to a 1-0 victory over the Mocs.

• Both teams hunkered down defensively in the first half, not allowing a goal on either side.  

• The Sharks continued with their aggressive play throughout the second half, forcing a lot of pressure on Florida Southern. 

• Then, in the 85th minute, the Sharks capitalized on their attack and Alexa Bereczki  scored off an assist from Saja Bjorling to put the Sharks on top. 

• The Sharks were able to hold on to the 1-0 victory over the Mocs. 
   

 

Coach Amy Vaughan - The staff are happy with the result, Florida Southern were a tough opponent but the girls persevered, showed a lot of grit and the performance was exactly what we looked for. We're looking forward to a big week ahead and back into SSC action.

Izzy Martinez - We fought to the very end, demonstrating our determination and resilience. We stayed patient while creating numerous chances, and sticking together as a unit until we got the result we came for.

 
 

Nova Southeastern will be back in action on October 30th for Senior Night in a conference match against Palm Beach Atlantic at 7 pm.
