Sharks Complete Season Sweep of Sailfish

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Nova Southeastern Volleyball got back into the win column and completed the season sweep over Palm Beach Atlantic by sweeping the Sailfish in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday evening. The Sharks have now won five consecutive matches against PBA, dating back to October 25, 2022.

How it Happened
  • Taylor Stockman started a four-point rally for the Sharks, which also featured a block from Olivia Aniol & Elizabeth Price, a service ace from Brooke Spurgeon and a kill from Aniol, giving NSU a 5-3 lead in the opening set. 
  • The Sharks later added a 9-2 run, extending the lead to 15-7 over Palm Beach Atlantic. 
  • Price started the run with a kill, as Kate Mihacevich, Stockman, Aniol and Brittany Landrum all contributed points. 
  • PBA cut the NSU lead to 16-12, but kills from Mihacevich and Price halted the Sailfish rally.
  • A Sailfish surge put the score at 22-20 late in the first set, but Mihacevich and Stockman closed out the 25-22 first set win for NSU.
  • Early in the second set, the Sunshine State Conference foes were tied 8-8.
  • NSU trailed 10-9 against PBA, but a lengthy 16-4 run gave the Sharks a 25-14 win in the frame.
  • The set-winning run featured points from Price, Aniol, Stockman, Spurgeon, Juliana Imbuzeiro, Mihacevich and Landrum. 
  • Nova Southeastern seized full control early in the third set, taking an 8-2 lead over Palm Beach Atlantic. 
  • Two errors by PBA gave NSU a 20-9 lead.
  • The Sharks sealed the season series with their second consecutive sweep over the Sailfish, winning the final set 25-13.
