MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Volleyball team was defeated in five-sets in the team's first County-Line Cup clash versus Sunshine State Conference rival Barry on Monday evening from the Health & Sports Center.

• Nova Southeastern started slowly in the contest, trailing the Buccaneers 6-2.
• Olivia Aniol started a brief 3-1 run by the Sharks, bringing the score to 7-5.
• Barry pulled away, using a 7-0 run to win the first set 25-12
• The Buccaneers started the second set lead 5-0, but two straight points from Kate Mihacevich, followed by a kill from Elizabeth Price and a Brooke Spurgeon service ace, cut the Barry lead to 6-4
• The two-point deficit was the slimmest margin the Sharks had in the second set, as NSU dropped the frame 25-14. 
• Aniol led a 9-1 run early in the third set, recording five points, as NSU took an 11-6 lead over Barry.
• The Sharks and Bucs traded points, as Barry cut the NSU advantage to two-points, but two kills from Aniol and another from Mihacevich put Nova Southeastern ahead 20-16.
• Mihacevich tallied four of the final five points in the frame for the Sharks, as NSU took the frame 25-20.
• Nova Southeastern took advantage of a pair of Barry errors to lead 7-5 in the fourth set. 
• The Sharks and Bucs exchanged points, as the score sat tied at 12-12, before Aniol, Elizabeth Price, and Taylor Stockman all recorded points in a 3-0 rally for NSU
• Mihacevich and Juliana Imbuzeiro sparked a 4-0 rally by NSU, pushing the Sharks' advantage to 21-18
• Nova Southeastern forced a fifth-set with a 25-20 fourth set win.
• Mihacevich tallied three consecutive service aces to give the Sharks a 5-2 lead in the final set. 
• A block from Mihacevich and Aniol gave NSU a 10-6 lead.
• Barry rallied to win the final set 15-11 over the Sharks, as Nova Southeastern dropped the first County-Line Cup Clash between the programs.

Nova Southeastern and Barry will face-off in the second match-up for the County-Line Cup on Saturday, November 9th at the Rick Case Arena. Prior to the match, NSU Volleyball will honor Elizabeth Price, Jordan Chessar, Kate Mihacevich, and Brittany Landrum for senior day.
