Sharks Tie Eagles in SSC Action

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team secured a draw in a conference battle with Embry-Riddle. After a three-goal first half by Embry-Riddle, the Sharks answered with three goals in the second half to tie the Eagles.

How it Happened

  • The Eagles got off to a fast start scoring in the 5th minute. 

  • ERU extended their lead with another goal in the 22nd minute to lead 2-0. 

  • Embry-Riddle scored again in the 31st minute to extend the lead to 3-0. 

  • The Sharks were not done yet, as Haley Mettrick put one in the back of the net, assisted by Tabea Schütt in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1. 

  • The Sharks struck again in the 54th minute, on a shot by Sofia Suarez to make it a 3-2 game. 

  • NSU scored their 3rd goal in a seven-minute span, as Tabea Schütt lasered a shot in the back of the net to tie the game in the 59th minute.  

  • The Sharks held off chances by the Eagles in the closing minutes with some clutch saves by Emilie Schroeder ultimately leading to the match ending in a draw.
     

Coach's Corner  
 
Coach Amy Vaughan - A fantastic result on the road against top team, away at riddle is always a difficult game. The girls stuck together, rose to the challenge showed belief and determination and got what they deserved. We look forward to getting back into training and moving forward.
 
What's Next  
 
Nova Southeastern will return on the road on November 8th to close out the regular season in a conference match against Eckerd College at 6 pm.
