St. Petersburg, Fla. - The number 15 ranked Nova Southeastern softball team completed the series sweep over Eckerd College Saturday morning from the Turley Athletic Complex in St. Petersburg, Fla. A three-RBI performance from Alexis Smith led the way for NSU.

TOP 1st – Alexis Smith kicked off the action with a single up the middle, bringing Alyssa Drogemuller home for the first Shark run of the game.
BOT 1st – Eckerd answered with a run of their own, tying the game at one apiece.
TOP 2nd – RBIs from Maliyah Lawson and Smith extended the Sharks lead to 3-1.
TOP 3rd – NSU's run barrage continued as a home run from Alisha Lanyon put another run on the board.
TOP 5th – Gianna Russo joined the action, hitting her own solo home run, giving NSU a 5-1 lead.
TOP 6th – Drogemuller would earn her first RBI of the game, singling up the middle, bringing Smith home. Smith came back later and returned the favor, doubling to center field and this time batting in Drogemuller for another Shark run. Shortly after, a wild pitch by the Tritons allowed Smith to score a run, extending the Sharks lead to 8-1.
TOP 7th – NSU continued to pour it on as Brianna Baer and Vicky Navarro brought in two more runs for the Sharks, giving them a commanding 10-1 lead.
BOT 7th – The Tritons tacked on their second run of the game but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit. NSU would go on to secure the series sweep in convincing fashion over Eckerd.
This marks the third game this season where the Sharks scored 10 or more runs.
NSU is currently on a nine-game winning streak.

NSU will return to action Friday, February 23rd as they head back to the AD Griffin Sports Complex to take on Florida Tech in a three-game series. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
