FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Sofia Suarez led the Sharks as she netted two goals in the Sharks victory in their first conference matchup of the season. The Nova Southeastern women's soccer team put on an offensive clinic in their 4-2 win over the Lynn Fighting Knights Saturday night from the NSU Soccer Complex.

• The Sharks started with a hot start thanks to a goal by Sofia Suarez (assisted by Tabea Schutt) in the 7th minute. 

• The Sharks were on the attack, resulting in a second goal by Sofia Suarez (assisted by Isabel Davis) in the 29th minute. 

• Lynn attempted to regain the momentum but Alexa Bereczki tacked on another goal for the Sharks in the 37th minute to put the Sharks up 3-0. 

• Lynn came out aggressive in the second half, scoring two quick goals to cut their deficit to one.  

• Emma Sellden sealed the game for NSU in the 88th minute (assisted by Haley Mettrick) ultimately securing the 4-2 conference victory for NSU. 
   

Coach Amy Vaughan - We faced a good Lynn team tonight who pushed us all the way. We have been playing well but not getting the rewards, tonight the girls put together a better overall performance and a well-deserved win—lots to work on but a good start in the conference for us.

Sofia Suarez - Well-deserved win tonight and exactly what we needed to start the conference play-off strong.

 
 
Nova Southeastern will be back in action on October 5th in another conference match against Saint Leo University at 7 pm.
