ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced the weekly award winners for the week of November 17th-23rd on Monday afternoon, and three Sharks were listed. Kristina Orban (Women's Swimming), Jaxon Nap (Men's Basketball) and Ross Reeves (Men's Basketball) were among Monday's honorees.
Orban was the top swimmer for Nova Southeastern at the Fall Frenzy Meet, powering the Sharks to a new program, conference, and meet record in the 200 freestyle relay with a winning time of 1:30.06, just 0.01 off the NCAA Division II national record. She added two individual victories, earning NCAA Division II "B" cuts in both the 50 free (22.59) and 200 free (1:48.01). Orban also posted an NCAA Division II "A" cut with her runner-up finish in the 100 free (49.31), capping a dominant weekend for the Sharks.
Nap recorded a double-double with game highs in points and rebounds during NSU's 112-99 conference-opening win against Tampa. The Newcastle, Washington native scored 28 points on 11-of-17 (65%) shooting from the floor and 6-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. Nap filled out his stat sheet by grabbing six offensive and six defensive rebounds, dishing two assists, and blocking a shot.
Reeves recorded nine steals and nine defensive rebounds in NSU's 112-99 SSC opening win against Tampa. His nine swipes tie for seventh all-time in SSC single-game history and mark the most in a conference matchup since January 2015. The Orem, Utah, product was one steal away from a triple-double as he provided the Sharks with 22 points, 11 total rebounds, and five assists in the victory. The weekly award is his second this season.
