ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announced the weekly award winners for the week November 24-30 of on Monday afternoon, and three Sharks were listed.
Markayla Holland (Women's Basketball), and
Ross Reeves (Men's Basketball) were among Monday's honorees.
Holland led Nova Southeastern defensively during a 3-0 Thanksgiving week. The guard from Waterford, Michigan, recorded a game-high four steals, two blocks, and a steal in a 90-67 win over St. Thomas. The junior followed with a game-high five defensive rebounds along with three steals in an 88-69 victory over Seattle Pacific. Finally, Holland had four steals and four defensive rebounds in an 81-45 win over Georgian Court. Offensively, she provided NSU with 35 points while shooting 62% from the floor, along with 10 offensive rebounds and nine assists.
Reeves repeats as Defensive Player of the Week after recording nine steals, three defensive rebounds, and a block in NSU's 123-52 win over Puerto Rico Mayaguez. His nine swipes match his career high and tie him for seventh all-time in SSC single-game history. The Orem, Utah, product recorded his nine steals, three rebounds, and a block along with 23 points in just 17 minutes on the floor. The weekly award is his third this season.
