ORLANDO, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern University men's and women's basketball programs were well-represented on Monday, as the SSC League Office named two Sharks as Players of the Week.
Ross Reeves and
Bridie McCann were named the Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week, respectively.
Reeves averaged 30.5 points per game as Nova Southeastern earned conference victories over Barry and Embry-Riddle. The Orem, Utah product started the week with a game-high 33 points and a team-high nine rebounds, along with two steals, a block, and an assist in a 95-70 win over Barry. The graduate student followed with 28 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 96-81 win over Embry-Riddle. Reeves totaled 61 points last week by shooting 51% from the field (22-43), 85% from the free-throw line (11-13), and 43% from behind the arc (6-14). He averaged 30.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game while playing 39.5 minutes per game. The weekly award is his fourth this season.
Meanwhile, McCann averaged 22.5 points per game as Nova Southeastern bested Barry and No. 9 Embry-Riddle last week. The guard from Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania began the week with a game-high 16 points, four assists, three steals, and a rebound during an 86-77 win over Barry. The junior followed with a career-high 29 points in a 65-57 win over No. 9 ERAU. She also recorded six rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the victory. McCann totaled 45 points last week by shooting 55% from the field (17-31), 100% from the line (2-2), and 53% from three (9-17). She averaged her 22.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals while playing 33.5 minutes per game.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams will go on the road this weekend, as they'll visit Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, December 13 for a double-header.
