WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks began a three-game Sunshine State Conference series against the Rollins Tars with an 8-1 loss on Friday afternoon at Alfond Stadium.

- The Tars took advantage of a pair of errors by the NSU defense and plated six runs in the bottom of the second inning.
- The Sharks got into the run column with three hits in the top of the fifth inning, as Ronny Medina drove in Gabriel Esquivel with an RBI single.
- Rollins plated a run in the bottom of the fifth inning, taking a 7-1 lead.
- Alexander Llinas entered in relief for NSU in the bottom of the fifth and held the Tars in check for the remainder of the game. The southpaw tossed 3.1 innings, striking out three, and allowed just one earned run.
- NSU dropped the series opener 8-1 to the Tars.
