BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern Sharks Baseball team opened up its Sunshine State Conference series against the Lynn Fighting Knights with a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon. NSU dropped the first game of the twin-bill 6-5, before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory in the second game of the day.

- Lynn got out to a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the second inning.
- The score remained 2-0 until the fifth inning, when the Fighting Knights added another run following an error by the Sharks.
- Roylan Quevedo hit a two-run home run for NSU, putting the score at 3-2.
- Lynn added a pair of runs in the seventh inning, taking advantage of an error by NSU.
- The Fighting Knights extended their lead to 6-2 over NSU in the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo home run.
- The Sharks attempted to make a comeback in the final frame, as Jack Cue and Xavier Moronta each came through with RBI hits, putting the score at 6-4.
- Quevedo reached by an error by Lynn, bringing in Moronta, and loaded the bases for NSU.
- The Sharks were unable to plate the tying run and dropped the Sunshine State Conference series opener 6-5.
- The Sharks got on the scoreboard first, courtesy of an RBI ground-out from Quevedo, as NSU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- Edwin Alicea held the Fightining Knights off the scoreboard for the first four innings, before Lynn tied the game following an error.
- The score remained tied at 1-1 until Jack Cue hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the eighth inning for NSU.
- The Sharks plated a pair of runs in the top of the ninth, taking a 4-1 lead.
- Alicea finished off the complete game effort, NSU's third of the season, as the left-hander earned his sixth win of the campaign.
