Sharks Take down Choctaws on the Road

CLINTON, Miss. -- The NSU Sharks rattled off their third victory in a row, as they defeated Mississippi College 4-0 to collect their first road win of the season. The Sharks got two goals apiece from sophomore Genesis Hernandez and freshman Oliwia Loeman, marking two multi-goal performances for NSU. The Sharks, who also got two assists from senior Sofia Suarez, led wire to wire and created a three-goal cushion in the first half. How it Happened
  • The Sharks went on the attack early, as Suarez set Hernandez up for a goal 4:32 into the game.
  • NSU continued generating chances out in front, and the persistence paid off when Hernandez found the back of the net again at the 24:18 mark, again off a setup from Suarez.
  • Loeman subbed into the game and immediately made an impact, scoring down the middle at the 40:32 mark off an assist from senior Isabel Davis. That goal gave the Sharks a 3-0 lead heading into the locker room.
  • Loeman scored the Sharks' final goal at the 52:48 mark of the second half, marking the second goal of the game and her career, and the Sharks held the Choctaws scoreless the rest of the way.
