How it Happened

  • Delta State drew first blood 3:39 into the game, as Avery Hooker got the Lady Statesmen on the board. Not to be outdone, NSU's Ella Niemela responded with a goal of her own at the 20:40 mark, and the two sides remained deadlocked going into the half.
  • At the 58:10 mark of the second half, the Sharks struck again, as Suarez scored on a setup from Alexa Bereczki.
  • Twenty minutes later, at the 78:44 mark, freshman Oliwia Loeman scored, thanks to an assist from Liwa Nilsson. That goal pushed the Sharks' lead to 3-1 and marked Loeman's third goal of the weekend.
  • Suarez found the back of the net again at the 86:03 mark, on a setup from Genesis Hernandez, marking yet another multi-goal performance for the Sharks.
