Sharks Split Final Day at UAH Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Al. – The Nova Southeastern University Sharks Volleyball team completed play at the UAH Invitational Saturday afternoon with a five-set defeat in their match against Trevecca Nazarene and a three-set victory over Lincoln Memorial. At the conclusion of today's tournament, Taylor Stockman was named to the All-Tournament team across four games. Stockman recorded 74 kills, 35 digs, and 16 blocks.

How it Happened
GAME 1

- The Sharks started quickly with a pair of points from Taylor Stockman and one from Caiden Largent, setting the score at 3-3.
- Taking a 10-6 lead, with points off blocks from Caiden Largent, Olivia Aniol, and Brantley Chipley. Taylor Stockman and Erika Spankus added points during the run.
- Erika Spankus, Brantley Chipley, and Taylor Stockman each tallied a kill as the Sharks pushed the score to 13-9.
- Aided by a pair of errors the Sharks' lead grew to 18-13.
- The Trojans went on a 6-1 run to even the score at 19-19.
- Caiden Largent, Taylor Stockman, and Erika Spankus took the Sharks lead to 23-20.
- Taylor Stockman put up the final two points needed for the set win at 25-22.
- The second start began with a quick three-point run for the Trojans.
- Taylor Stockman put a pair of points on the board as the Sharks countered making the score 5-4.
- Points for each side continued to climb until the Trojans pulled away at a 13-10 score.

The second match of the day the Sharks took on Lincoln Memorial University.
- The first set began 2-0 for the Sharks from a pair of kills by Caiden Largent.
- The Sharks and Railsplitters pushed the score to 5-5, with points coming from Taylor Stockman.
- Points from Erika Spankus, Olivia Aniol, Caiden Largent, and Brantley Chipley pushed the Sharks into the lead at 11-9.
- The Sharks pulled ahead offensively, charging to a 17-13 lead.
- Gabrielle Spankus, Brantley Chipley, and Erika Spankus tallied points for the Sharks to take the score to 22-19.
- Erika Spankus continued to add points to the Sharks score finishing the first set with a kill, and a 25-21 set win.
- The second set started with a two-point deficit for the Sharks.
- Consecutive services aces from Taylor Stockman put the Sharks in the lead at 6-4.
