FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Nova Southeastern University baseball team swept the second weekend of 2026 going 3-0, with a victory over Erskine College, and comeback wins over Coker University and Washburn University.

GAME 1

- The game opened with consecutive scoreless innings from Christopher Perez, where he allowed a lone base hit to the second batter of the game.
- The offense took off in the bottom of the second inning, as Jack Cue ripped a double to right field. JC Hernandez launched a two-run homerun (1) over the rightfield fence to put the Sharks ahead 2-0. Following the homerun, Yhirian Marrero and Anthony Stinson each reached base on a walk and hit by pitch. After consecutive outs Emilio Gonzalez took aim at the right field fence as well, clearing the bases with a three-run homerun (1) pushing the score to 5-0 in the second inning. Dakota Jones doubled to extend the inning as the Sharks totaled five runs on four hits in the inning.
- Christopher Perez continued to dominate on the mound, turning away the Flying Fleet with five strikeouts over the next three innings.
- In the top of the sixth inning Christopher Perez recorded two outs before being lifted for Ricky Gonzalez who finished the inning.
- The bottom of the sixth inning opened with a base hit by Anthony Stinson, who quickly stole second base before Michael Arnold worked a walk.
- After a pitching change by Erskine, Roy Quevedo cleared the bases with a double to left field, as the Sharks now led 7-0.
- Erskine rallied in the top of the seventh, putting their first four men on base and pushing across two runs, cutting into the lead with a 7-2 score.
- Miguel Diaz entered from the bullpen to record the final two outs of the top of the seventh inning.
- Diaz remained in the game and finished the final two innings, as the Sharks secured the win with a 7-2 final score.

- In the second game of the weekend the Sharks sent out freshman starting pitcher Nick Manning against the Coker University Cobras.
- The Cobras leadoff hitter pulled a double down the right field line to start the game, after a pair of bunts by the following batters the Cobras had a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
- The Sharks immediately put together an answer with the bats, Roy Quevedo and Emilio Gonzalez each worked walks to set the table, with one out in the inning Nick Rodriguez was hit by a pitch to load the bases.
- The Cobras made an early pitching change before Dakota Jones brought in the first run for the Sharks on a walk. Joel Cabrera brought in Emilio Gonzalez on a ground ball, putting the Sharks ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the first.
- The top of the second inning started with a leadoff double, with another sacrifice bunt and groundout the score was tied again at 2-2.
- The Cobras broke the tie in the top of the fourth inning after a pair of hits, pushing across another run and making the score 3-2.
- Frank Billisi entered out of the bullpen replacing Nick Manning working through two innings without allowing a run.
- The Sharks offense struck again in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Dakota Jones and Joel Cabrera each reached base to start the frame. Sebastian Garavito came off the bench to pinch hit and delivered with RBI-single to tie the game at 3-3.
- Following a pitching change, the Sharks called on JC Hernandez to pinch hit with two runners on base, JC Hernandez ripped a double to right field brining in both runs as the Sharks grabbed a 5-3 advantage.
- Roy Quevedo and Emilio Gonzalez each added base hits in the inning, plating another run as the Sharks continued adding runs, now leading 6-3.
- Roy Quevedo came across as the fourth run in the frame after a wild pitch, the Sharks finished the bottom of the sixth inning leading 7-3.
- In the top of the seventh inning the Cobras responded immediately to the Sharks uprising, pushing across four runs and tying the game 7-7.
- The Sharks bats refused to be quieted, as Joel Cabrera and Manny Ramirez Jr. reached base to open the bottom of the seventh inning.
- Sebastian Garavito earned his way on base with a walk to load the bases, and with one out in the inning Roy Quevedo drove in the go ahead run on a sac-fly putting the Sharks ahead 8-7.
- In the bottom of the eighth inning the Sharks added a pair of runs on three hits, as Nick Rodriguez, Joel Cabrera, and Manny Ramirez Jr. put the Sharks ahead 10-7.
- Michael Alfonso finished off the game in the top of the ninth as the Sharks held on to win with a 10-7 final score.

- In the final game of the weekend the Sharks turned to Federico Zapata against the Washburn University Ichabods.
- Emilio Gonzalez was the first Sharks player to reach with a one out single, after a failed pickoff attempt Emilio Gonzalez advanced to third base.
- JC Hernandez drove in Emilio Gonzalez on a sac-fly, putting the Sharks ahead 1-0.
- In the top of the third inning Washburn cracked through with a pair of runs, taking a 2-1 lead.
- Both starting pitchers settled into the game, keeping the score at 2-1 through five innings.
- In the top of the sixth inning Washburn pushed across two runs to expand their lead to 4-1.
- Ty Torti lined a base hit to right field as the Sharks looked to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning. Yhirian Marrero and Anthony Stinson followed by reaching on an error and a walk, loading the bases. Roy Quevedo ripped a double down the left field line to plate two runs. Emilio Gonzalez drove in the tying run on a sac-fly, as the Sharks evened with Washburn 4-4.
- Washburn totaled four runs in the top of the eighth inning on grand slam, taking a late 8-4 lead.
- Needing another late surge, Joel Cabrera and Sebastian Garavito each reached base to begin the bottom of the eighth inning. With two outs in the inning Nick Rodriguez entered the game as a pinch hitter, where he was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Roy Quevedo worked a walk to bring in Joel Cabrera and cut the deficit to 8-5. Emilio Gonzalez mashed a go-ahead grand slam over the left field fence as the Sharks took a 9-8 lead over Washburn.
- Miguel Diaz remained in the game and retired three straight batters to secure the win.
